C.S. Lewis by Joel Heck

Chronologically Lewis

This chronology, begun in 2004, is the world’s best source of information on the lives of C. S. Lewis and Warren Lewis. Available in an easily searchable format, and updated with improvements several times each year, "Chronologically Lewis" is an indispensable resource for students of Lewis with over 1300 pages of details of Lewis' life. The current version was uploaded on October 7, 2024 and now contains the following new information: This edition includes a note on a Lewis essay called “Propriety of Miracles” from November 1947. The essay is a condensed version of a chapter from Miracles. There is some more biographical detail provided through Nancy Bunting about Aleister Crowdy for the date April 13, 1934. I added a bit more detail on Janet Spens in a footnote for June 9, 1926, also thanks to Nancy Bunting. From Simon Horobin’s new book C. S. Lewis’s Oxford I added an entirely new entry about a Nov. 14, 1941 letter from Lewis to the Bodleian Library. And I added the entire entry for May 14, 1946, also taken from Horobin’s new book.
